Wei Yan Participates in Joint Interview with Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Thai Foreign Minister Duncan at the "Belt and Road" International Cooperation Summit Forum

On the evening of 14 February, the Foreign Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China and Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with the Thai Foreign Minister, who was present at the ¡°Belt and Road¡± International Cooperation Summit in China. Wei Yan participated in the joint interview.
Wang Yi said that China and Thailand are close relatives and the two countries have always understood and supported each other in major international and regional affairs. Thailand has supported the "Belt and Road Initiative" proposed by China from the very beginning. China appreciates this. Thailand is an important country along the ¡°One Belt and One Road.¡± China is willing to strengthen the development strategy with Thailand and ASEAN through the China-Thailand Railway and Sino-Thai cooperation, deepen interconnection, and cooperate closely in the construction of the ¡°One Belt and One Road¡± to further benefit the two countries. And the people of the region to promote the development and prosperity of the region.
Dun expressed that it is an honor to represent Thailand at the "Belt and Road" International Cooperation Summit Forum and highly appreciates the important speech delivered by Chairman Xi Jinping at the opening ceremony. The "One Belt and One Road" initiative helps to promote the process of globalization and regional interconnection, and is also highly compatible with the development strategies of Thailand and ASEAN. Thailand is willing to continue to actively participate in the construction of the ¡°One Belt and One Road¡± and wishes the summit a complete success.
The two sides also exchanged opinions on regional issues of common concern.
