The first meeting of the United Nations IDP NGO in 2017 was held at the 866th United Nations Building on February 16. The meeting was presided over by Brenden Varma, Executive Director of the Public Information Department of the UN Economic and Social Council. At the beginning of the meeting, all the participants stood up and silently mourned the victims of the war. Then Mr. Brenden Varma gave a speech based on the theme of this year's United Nations International Day for Peace, "Together for Peace: Respect, Safety and Dignity for all for peace: respect for everyone, safety and dignity." All participants spoke on behalf of their respective organizations and they unanimously stated that they will actively implement the key spirit proposed by the International Day of Peace this year. In his speech, President Jiang Weiqing of the Chinese Association stated: Respect for people and respect for the dignity of refugees displaced by the war must be implemented. We must donate money and donate money to help refugees overcome the difficulties of eating and drinking. In the end, everyone unanimously adopted the plan to celebrate this year’s International Day of Peace.
